So, Friday after work I went to my eye doctor and had laser surgery. The procedure itself was very scary , but quick and painless. I came home looking like this, my eyes were hurting, took some meds to help me relax, went to sleep immediately and....
woke up Saturday looking like this....look carefully into my eyes...do I look any different (besides the fact that I am way too tan for January)? I can see!! No contacts, no glasses! 12 hours after the surgery and no pain and I can see!! It feels like a miracle
This is the first thing that came to my mind when I woke up this morning....

Christmas and Birthday in Paradise
Paradise
Our trip began on the wonderful island of Providence. It is small , remote, simple and the most beautiful and relaxing place I have ever been. The people were amazingly kind, the water was warm and crystal clear, the food was fabulous (ceviche, shrimp and rice)and the whole atmosphere was truly paradise. I can't even begin to explain the beauty of this island, nor do the pictures. It is one of those places that must be experienced to fully appreciate...
The view from the airport....no large planes allowed The cows that followed us from the airport

Our hotel
It did not take us long to find the only bar in town. It is on this beautiful beach called Manzanillo. Roland and his son Jeyson run and operate this bit of paradise. We spent a lot of time here listening to reggae, drinking cuba libres and enjoying the view.
My New Home
We were so very sad to leave Providence but San Andres also had some beautiful beaches
My Birthday Night in San Andres...aka New Year's Eve
We began the night hanging out in this little park across from the hotel. I needed some bubbly, but couldn't find a glass.....straws work
